M3 ORANGE+ / S

DO NOT confuse OS between M3 ORANGE+ and M3 ORANGE S. Even though OS installation methods are the same, the actual OS files are different.

DO NOT install M3 ORANGE+ CE OS on M3 ORANGE+ / S units.

Copy OS update 2 files SDUpdater.nb0(Boot file) and STABCCDD.bin(OS image) to root folder of microSD card. Then insert the SD card to the device.
ie) Root folder: The root folder of any partition is the "highest" folder in the hierarchy. The root folder contains all other folders and can also contain files. For example, the root folder of the main partition on your computer is probably C:\. The root folder of your DVD or CD drive might be D:\. The term root may also be relative to whatever location you're talking about. For example, the files contained in the folder (but not subdirectories of) C:\Users may be referred to as the files in the root of C:\Users.

 
 

Then the device will be turned off and gone into the boot menu for OS update automatically.
Once update done, launched OS automatically.
 

Block Size Setting : The ROM(1GB) can be reallocated between device(C:\) and Flash Disk(D:\)


☞ Please be informed that not only OS refreshed but also Flash Disk contents are removed.
Result : Start – Settings – System - Memory

Turn off the device by pressing the power button for approximately 10 seconds. Then, while pressing the right arrow button, press power button to enter the boot menu.

Select 1) SD Download follow by Select 3) BOOT+FLASH.BIN

 

Select proper OS file from the list.
Note : If the SD card contain several Flash image, this page shows up to 4 detectable files randomly.
 

The updating % will be shown at the bottom, once complete below image’s shown.

Download all necessary files to your PC.(ORANGE +/S uses same drivers and tool with M3 SMART WM)

OS file.

USB Driver if necessary: M3ORANGE+_Driver.zip
 

Turn off the device by pressing the power button for approximately 10 seconds.
Then, while pressing the right arrow button, press power button to enter boot menu.

From the boot menu, press ‘2) USB Download’ to enter USB Download Mode. Then, press ‘1’ to prepare the PDA for USB OS update.
 

‘Found New Hardware’ message will be displayed on your PC and will automatically install required driver.

If the driver is installed properly, please go to step B, otherwise proceed to step 5.
 

If the driver is not installed properly, the driver must be installed manually.

Please open Device Manager. (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers > Device Manager).

 

Double click on SEC S5PC100X Test B/D to open the properties and click on Update Driver…

 

Click on Browse my computer for driver software

 

Then, select the folder where the driver files are located by click on Browse…

 

When a warning window pops up, click on Install this driver software anyway.

 

Then, it will start installing driver software.

 

Close the window after the driver installation is successfully done.
 

Launch USBDown.exe to start OS update.

Select ‘All Image’ and click on Open to select Images.bin, OS file.

When the correct OS file is selected, click start to proceed.

 

The updating % will be shown at the bottom in the PDA, once complete below image’s shown.
Select ‘0’ then OS will be booted up.
